Jb 30.1: Et maintenant, ceux qui sont plus jeunes que moi se moquent de moi, ceux dont j’aurais dédaigné de mettre les pères avec les chiens de mon troupeau.
Jb 30.1: But now [they that are] younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
Jb 30.2: Même à quoi m’aurait servi la force de leurs mains ? La vigueur est périe pour eux.
Jb 30.2: Yea, whereto [might] the strength of their hands [profit] me, in whom old age was perished?
Jb 30.3: Desséchés par la disette et la faim, ils s’enfuient dans les lieux arides, dès longtemps désolés et déserts ;
Jb 30.3: For want and famine [they were] solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.
Jb 30.4: Ils cueillent le pourpier de mer parmi les broussailles, et, pour leur pain, la racine des genêts.
Jb 30.4: Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots [for] their meat.
Jb 30.5: Ils sont chassés du milieu [des hommes], (on crie après eux comme après un voleur,)
Jb 30.5: They were driven forth from among [men], (they cried after them as [after] a thief;)
Jb 30.6: Pour demeurer dans des gorges affreuses, dans les trous de la terre et des rochers;
Jb 30.6: To dwell in the clifts of the valleys, [in] caves of the earth, and [in] the rocks.
Jb 30.7: Ils hurlent parmi les broussailles, ils se rassemblent sous les ronces :
Jb 30.7: Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.
Jb 30.8: Fils d’insensés, et fils de gens sans nom, ils sont chassés du pays.
Jb 30.8: [They were] children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.
Jb 30.9: Et maintenant, je suis leur chanson et je suis le sujet de leur entretien.
Jb 30.9: And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.
Jb 30.10: Ils m’ont en horreur, ils se tiennent loin de moi, et n’épargnent pas à ma face les crachats ;
Jb 30.10: They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.
Jb 30.11: Car Il a délié ma corde et m’a affligé : ils ont jeté loin [tout] frein devant moi.
Jb 30.11: Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.
Jb 30.12: Cette jeune engeance se lève à ma droite ; ils poussent mes pieds et préparent contre moi leur chemin pernicieux ;
Jb 30.12: Upon [my] right [hand] rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.
Jb 30.13: Ils détruisent mon sentier, ils contribuent à ma calamité, sans que personne leur vienne en aide ;
Jb 30.13: They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.
Jb 30.14: Ils viennent comme par une large brèche, ils se précipitent au milieu du fracas.
Jb 30.14: They came [upon me] as a wide breaking in [of waters]: in the desolation they rolled themselves [upon me].
Jb 30.15: Des terreurs m’assaillent, elles poursuivent ma gloire comme le vent, et mon état de sûreté est passé comme une nuée.
Jb 30.15: Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.
Jb 30.16: Et maintenant, mon âme se répand en moi : les jours d’affliction m’ont saisi.
Jb 30.16: And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.
Jb 30.17: La nuit perce mes os [et les détache] de dessus moi, et ceux qui me rongent ne dorment pas ;
Jb 30.17: My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.
Jb 30.18: Par leur grande force ils deviennent mon vêtement ; ils me serrent comme le collet de ma tunique.
Jb 30.18: By the great force [of my disease] is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.
Jb 30.19: Il m’a jeté dans la boue, et je suis devenu comme la poussière et la cendre.
Jb 30.19: He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.
Jb 30.20: Je crie à toi, et tu ne me réponds pas ; je me tiens là, et tu me regardes !
Jb 30.20: I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me [not].
Jb 30.21: Tu t’es changé pour moi en [ennemi] cruel ; tu me poursuis avec la force de ta main.
Jb 30.21: Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.
Jb 30.22: Tu m’enlèves sur le vent, tu fais qu’il m’emporte, et tu dissous ma substance.
Jb 30.22: Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride [upon it], and dissolvest my substance.
Jb 30.23: Car je sais que tu m’amènes à la mort, la maison de rassemblement de tous les vivants.
Jb 30.23: For I know [that] thou wilt bring me [to] death, and [to] the house appointed for all living.
Jb 30.24: Toutefois, dans sa ruine, n’étend-il pas la main, et, dans sa calamité, ne jette-t-il pas un cri [de détresse] ?
Jb 30.24: Howbeit he will not stretch out [his] hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.
Jb 30.25: N’ai-je pas pleuré sur celui pour qui les temps étaient durs, et mon âme n’a-t-elle pas été attristée pour le pauvre ?
Jb 30.25: Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was [not] my soul grieved for the poor?
Jb 30.26: Car j’attendais le bien, et le mal est arrivé ; je comptais sur la lumière, et l’obscurité est venue.
Jb 30.26: When I looked for good, then evil came [unto me]: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
Jb 30.27: Mes entrailles bouillonnent et ne cessent pas ; les jours d’affliction sont venus sur moi.
Jb 30.27: My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.
Jb 30.28: Je marche tout noirci, mais non par le soleil ; je me lève dans l’assemblée, je crie ;
Jb 30.28: I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, [and] I cried in the congregation.
Jb 30.29: Je suis devenu le frère des chacals et le compagnon des autruches.
Jb 30.29: I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.
Jb 30.30: Ma peau devient noire [et se détache] de dessus moi, et mes os sont brûlés par la sécheresse ;
Jb 30.30: My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.
Jb 30.31: Et ma harpe est changée en deuil, et mon chalumeau est devenu la voix des pleureurs.
Jb 30.31: My harp also is [turned] to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.
